Umbria

What pop up in your mind when you heard the word 'umbria'?

I saw a tree shadowing a golden field.

Bear in mind I've never been there, or had any idea where exactly the location of it other than somewhere in Italy, or had any idea the meaning of the word in Italian.

Yes, it means 'shadow', so I've been told.

WhenI hear "Umbria" I think of neigbouring Tuscany - and of it's ancient cities Firenze(Florence), Pisa, Sienna, Lucca, Volterra and Sienna. Hills, wine and good food, a lot of culture.

That is: of one of my best holidays with our children ( no grandchildren at that moment yet)at the start of this millennium..
