Is it a chicken? Is it a duck?

It was around 9 o’clock but the place was still packed. A black cardigan was sitting across the table of a brown sweater and both were trying to decide what to order. Feeling a bit courageous and full of curiosity they ventured on tasting a couple of new dishes.

First, they agreed on to take Ma Tai Kow, a sweet jelly pudding with shredded water chestnut. The second was Ha Cheung, a steamed-prawn-wrapped-in-rice-dough dish. Then they narrowed it down to the choice between Chicken Feet and Duck Feet.

Unable to decide, they called out the help of the waiter.

Holding the menu, the black cardigan blurted out ‘what’s the difference between chicken feet and duck feet?
The brown sweater’s eyes twinkled as an answer raced to her mind while observing the scene, ‘the one with out web are chicken feet, dear.
Hearing that question, a greenish shirt at the next table leaned toward the black cardigan and started eavesdropping. Meanwhile the waiter explained, ‘the chicken one is steamed, and the duck one is fried, then wrapped with dried Soya bean curd and finally steamed. Both taste nice.

The black cardigan looked at the brown sweater, and with out a word they read each other’s mind.
Like the most normal thing in the world, the Black cardigan said ‘We’ll try the duck one, then. Thank you’ and started to chitchat with the Brown Sweater.
The waiter went on to place the order.
In the meantime the greenish shirt looked shocked and gave the how-on-earth-can-you-eat-those-things look before he left with his companion.

The look on his face: priceless
