I know the feeling

How for a long while I decided that not feeling anything was easier than loving someone, knowing you could lose him at any moment.

There is a lot of "la condition humaine", of melancholy, of sadness and resignation but also of survival in this story.

I tend to disagree though that "not feeling anything is easier than loving someone". It might work, but so might trying again and again. And, falling in love may be insane, but it is the best drug available. And it usually, well sometimes :), is for free.
